I sat down expecting to skim it for a few minutes. 20 minutes later, I was so engrossed that I had to just sit and think for a few minutes before I could go back to what I was doing.

For one, this is chilling beyond all belief for me. Also, fascinating. Understanding child psychology is one thing that I will never get tired of—we think we know a lot, but we actually know so little that it’s almost frightening (when you take into consideration cases like this).

For another, I’m…not sure what I would do if I found myself the mother of someone as, honestly, terrifying as Michael. I respect the eff out of that mother for trying, and hope for the best for that family.
